Check out our Top 10 FAVORITE Healthy Restaurants in Dallas!
1. HG Suply Co
We have had many many date nights at this place! It has been our favorite since we started dating. We are even having our rehearsal dinner on the rooftop here in a couple months. First of all, HG stands for Hunters and Gatherers. There are many options if you following a paleo/not-strict paleo diet. Everything is local and they only cook in coconut oil/olive oil. Our favorites are the “create your own bowl.” You choose a protein (steak, chicken, duck, ahi tuna, turkey), a starch (sweet potato hash, quinoa, etc.) and a topping (grilled veggies, guacamole, salsa, sautéed mushrooms, etc.) and you can even add a fried egg on top. Another favorite is the “burgerstack” which is a grass fed beef/wagyu bunless burger on top of lettuce/tomato and topped with avocado and a fried egg with sweet potato hash on the side. TWO THUMBS UP! And you can end the night with a drink on their rooftop. Perfect.
2. Origin Kitchen and Bar
This is one of the best places for brunch in Dallas. And, their coffee is amazing! Similar to HG, all their food is local and organic. I recommend the Paleo pancake, the hash bowl, or the veggie omelette. They have many gluten free options and everything is so fresh and delicious. You will love the atmosphere too with an open kitchen and several cozy booths.
3. TJs Seafood Market
Best seafood in Dallas. When you walk in, you go straight up to a counter filled with a glass case of all the freshest fish you could imagine. Pick your fish, how you would like it cooked, a couple delicious sides, and they bring it to your table. They have their fish flown in and so it’s fresh and never frozen. The wine selection is pretty good too. Small restaurant but perfect date place. You can even order the fish to go and they will give you directions on how to cook it. Love this place!
4. Company Cafe Katy Trail
Again, perfect breakfast/brunch spot. Take a jog on the Katy trail and then end up right at Company Cafe. They have a big outdoor patio (with fans in the summertime) and an outdoor bar. The inside is cute and cozy. Local and organic food with many gluten free options. Our favorite is the “deep bowl” which is sweet potato hash, grass-fed beef, eggs, and avocado. The “early bird omelet” is also great. For lunch, try the “Smokehouse chicken tacos” corn tortillas filled with chicken, onion, feta, cilantro, guacamole, and salsa. The roasted brussel spouts and sweet potato fries are probably the best in town and they even have cauliflower mash. Go try it. Thank me later.
5. Southpaws Organic Grill
This is another great gem in Dallas. Professional boxer, Reza Anvarian started this restaraunt on “the principle of serving healthy eating through organic and natural foods that taste great without added sugars, syrups, nitrates, or preservatives.” The “ZaZa rice bowl” is the way to go. Grilled chicken, brown rice, grilled veggie stir fry. Voila.
6. Kozy Kitchen
Great for breakfast and its’ served ALL day. Austin’s favorite is the “Bowl of Doom” which is an off-menu item. This HUGE bowl is made up of sweet potato hash, grass fed beef, eggs, avocado. They also have grass fed buffalo which can be added to any of the omelettes or tacos.
7. Seasons 52
Located in North Park Mall, this place is really cool! Fun yet relaxing atmosphere. Cool bar with a piano in the middle and they play live music on the weekends. Everything on the menu is no more than 475 calories!! Their “oak grilled filet mignon” is really good as well as their “cedar plank roasted salmon”. They even have low calorie cocktails that are amazing because they infuse their own vodka with fresh fruit like strawberries. Great night date place!
8. GRIP Mediterranean
Think of a Mediterranean version of chipotle. Created by the owners of Ali Baba and Terra Mediterranean. Walk up to the counter and pick your choice of a wrap, salad, or plate. Pick your protein: chicken, lamb, gyro, falafel. Pair it with pita bread, hummus, tzatziki, etc. They even have sides such as dolmas, roasted cauliflower, and tabbouleh. Perfect lunch spot and affordable. You can get a quick Mediterranean lunch for $10 or less.
9. Penne Pomodoro
Favorite for gluten free options! Love their gluten free pizzas! Probably one of the best gluten free crusts that I have found. My favorite is the “GF Mediterranean Pizza” with grilled chicken. Perfect if you are on a gluten free and dairy free diet. You can ask for light cheese and they will only put a sprinkle of feta on it. Chicken, feta, roasted tomatoes, spinach, kalamata olives, and pine nuts. Perfecto.
10. Zoes Kitchen
What isn’t good here? Chicken kabobs, salmon kabobs, hummus…and more! They even provide all the nutritional info and have many meals for 500 calories or less. Perfect for a quick lunch or a to-go dinner.
