Tone it Tuesday

Yesterday I stayed home ALL day because of the “ice” day. I cannot believe we are in the LAST week of Feb here in Dallas and now it decides to give us winter weather!! Oh well, I’ll take it…since the gym was closed yesterday I worked out at home and put together a fast-paced and high volume lower body workout. Although a lot of the time I lift heavy, some times I take the weight down a bit, add more reps, pulses, and really make it burn. Try this workout TODAY!

Warm up:

  • 5 minute Incline power walk
  • Resistance band lateral walks (put it around your shins) 20 steps each direction
  1. 1 1/2 Squats on Smith Machine 4×12
  2. KB (50 lbs) Stiff leg deadlift 4×12

Superset these, then move on

  1. Single leg glider lunge 3×20 each leg
  2. Curtsy lunges alternating (holding medicine ball at chest) 3×20 total

Superset these, then move on

  1. KB Plie squats 3×10 full/10 pulses
  2. Single leg lateral step ups on bench 3×12 each side

Superset these, then move on

  1. Glute bridges on RB 3×20
  2. Seated leg extensions 3×15

Superset these, then move on

Burnout Circuit: keep the small resistance band around your shins the whole time

  1. Band squat jacks 12 reps
  2. Diagonal side steps 12 reps
  3. Plank Jacks 12 reps

Repeat, then rest, and do it again twice

Stay STRONG today!
