Austin and I love seeing couples workout together!

We strongly believe that it makes a world of difference when both sides are working out, trying to eat healthier, and striving towards becoming stronger and healthier.

Because who wants to go through it alone? Exercising together can actually bring you two closer together. Not to mention it’s a great date option when you’re tired of the traditional dinners out.

That’s why we created, The Couples Workout. An event series we started in January to kick off the New Year. We wanted to motivate couples to get out and get moving together. We held the event every Saturday mornings in the month of January and we had a great turn out!

The workouts consisted of fast paced interval circuits with fun athletic-style exercises such as pushing the prowler, battle ropes, rowing, and medicine ball/kettlebell circuits. We divided among 3-4 different stations and had everyone start at the same time, competing with the other couples in their station. While one person went, the other would rest and vice versa. They would have to each complete the exercise before moving on to the next and then repeat the circuit 2-3 times.

We loved seeing the couples encourage each other and push each other to keep going and to finish strong. It was definitely inspiring and rewarding to watch at the same time.

At the end of each workout, the participants were given some healthy post workout bites provided by Simply Fit Meals. This ended up being different each time and ranged from Breakfast sandwiches to their Paleo Migas (shredded chicken, sweet potato hash, egg whites) to Egg white, ham, and cheddar frittatas. Everything from SFM is DELISH! 

If you live in the DFW area, and have never been there, be sure to go check them out! They are a prepared food service and they have different sizes to fit into your caloric and macronutrient needs as well as a wide variety to accomodate your dietary preferences (gluten free, dairy free, vegan, etc.).

Since we have had such a great turnout from each event, we have decided to keep this going! Austin and I will be continuing “The Couples Workout” one Saturday each month. We are SO excited and hope you will join us on Saturday February 11th at 10am for the next one! The workouts are held at East Side Athletic Club in Deep Ellum.
