“First you fuel the desire, then the desire will fuel you.”


What drives you? That is one of the most important questions we should ask ourselves. When it comes to starting a workout program, beginning a new nutrition plan, or committing to train for a half marathon, we have to find out what is fueling the desire to accomplish that goal.

Is the desire to become a stronger and faster athlete? Is the desire to be the mom who can take care of her children and has the endurance to run after her kids and play with them? Is the desire to feel more confident and break through an addiction?

Whatever your desire is, you must establish that first. When you start on your journey towards becoming stronger, happier, and healthier, that desire is what will fuel you to reach your goals. Write it down. Hang it on your fridge, your mirror, your bedside table. Remind yourself daily of why you are doing this. When life gets hard, you feel knocked down, go back to why you started in the first place. You’ll only come out stronger if you keep going.
