This maybe the most important factor in any physical fitness or nutritional plan. Too many times we see people who start and stop training/nutritional programs and quickly lose sight of their goals. They seem to think, “its been 2 weeks and nothing is happening.” What most people do not realize is that change is happening even if it is not seen yet. The body is becoming more neurologically efficient. After this we really see muscular and metabolic changes.
Another common problem in consistency is information overload. Too much research could be a bad thing. There are so many opinions in the fitness industry it makes it very difficult to know who to believe. Trying a new training or diet plan every week if far from consistent. How do you know what works? My advice is stick to a training or nutritional plan for 4-6 weeks before making adjustments. Otherwise you are just guessing. Consistency day in and day out will bring incredible results.
